Moving up........

The DSA results brought fantastic news! Mason's antibody levels have significantly dropped! The percent of rejecting antibodies left in his blood right now is very low. Hooray!! The Donor Specific Antigen test (only done here at Stanford......and soon to be used at other transplant hospitals) shows the specific bad antigens that Mason's body is fighting against. 2 weeks ago he had 8 of those and in very high percentages and now he only has 1!! And the amount of that 1 in his blood dropped 92%. That is HUGE! A huge miraculous drop of those mean nasty rejecting antibodies!

I love good news!!!

Tomorrow Mason will move up to 3 west, the recovery floor for cardiac and transplant patients. This means he does not need ICU care any more!! This also means Mason and Mommy can share a big bed (Okay, a twin is not big, but at least bigger than an ICU crib!) and we can have our own bathroom too. Hopefully, Mason can at least get a little better rest up there, especially w/ Mommy cuddling him to get him to sleep!

Good Night!

Yippeeee!!! Mason has got to be one of the bravest little guys around! To be so young and to not understand all that is going on must be so hard. Of course, having such a fabulous Mommy makes all the difference I think! It has been such an honor to follow this miracle for the past four weeks. Thank for sharing it and for increasing my own faith in miracles through your sweet baby boy!

Way to Go MASON!!!!!!!! Enjoy mommy time, and the more comfortable bed. A twin is much better than the cribs. I am glad that the Lord is hearing the prayers of so many across the nation and world. Quick stepping Mason. Soon you will be home in your own little bed. :)

Summer, you don't know me, but we share a little in common. I first heard about you from Paul Cardall and am just getting around to checking your blog. My heart is so full of every kind of emotion! You are so strong and little Mason is so precious! I will continue to pray for you, Mason and your family!!!

My daughter had open heart surgery at 6 months to fix the sub aortic stenosis, and patch a VSD. As a result, her hearts natural rhythm never came back and she has an artificial pacemaker. Four pacemaker surgeries later, and 10 years later, she is doing wonderful. As you must be doing, I thank the Lord everyday for allowing me another day with her, on Earth. :)

Although he doesn't know us, give him a big hug and tell him to continue to rock on! I hope we'll be able to meet someday.

Take care Summer!

Yeah for 3 West! It's such a big step! I'm so excited for you guys. The beds are easier to snuggle em in and the nurses leave you alone so you can actually rest! Enjoy it! Yeah Mason!!

Celebrate, Celebrate. It is back in the category of big step miracles. Such good news! Moving up in a hospital setting is so encouraging not to say anything less about all those good numbers, but when they don't want you in the ICU any more you know YOU HAVE ARRIVED. Little steps and little steps and then it will be time to leave and all you will have to do is wean the miracle boy from sleeping with mom. Lovely to think of the day when that would be the only challenge.

Snuggling in a hospital bed still rates as one of my favorite 'hidden' joys! I am so glad you are getting out of ICU and one step closer to home. Praying for continued recovery, acceptance of the heart and healing.
