My Little Marshmallow

All is going well and Mason's recovery is slowly moving in the right direction.

Mason's kidneys finally kicked into action yesterday and he's been peeing off his extra fluid, slowly but surely. Yay! (Your prayers and mine were heard and answered.)

He is still a sweet little puffy marshmallow, which I know makes him uncomfortable! The docs have to keep him pretty sedated to keep him happy. Which I don't really like, but I don't want him in pain or uncomfortable either. He needs his rest to heal.

He is still on the breathing tube (since Friday night) to help him get the rest he needs to get this extra fluid off his lungs and body. He is doing most of the breathing and work on his own which is great, but the the b tube is there to support him if needed.

This afternoon he will start his 4th pheresis treatment, followed by an IVIg treatment. The ATG was only for the first 3 days. PRAY with us that these are working please!!!!

Today's echo looks great, so Mason's heart function is excellent and not affected by the rejection. For this I am very very grateful!!

Today, we press forward with faith that Mason can fight off this awful rejection!!

A very dear heart friend shared this with me:

....that the works of God should be manifest in him. John 9:3

Faith is the key to know that miracles can happen, that Miracle Mason will make it through the rejection. I KNOW you have the faith. So I will continue to PRAY for your sweet family! My heart hurts for you during this rollercoaster journey, but I have hope that Mason can defeat the rejection and give YOU the best Mother's day ever! He is sure cute.. marshmallow or not. Kiss his puffy cheek for me. You are all loved by so many.

Love Jess

We continue to PRAY!!! I'm so sorry that Mason is going through so much. I'm glad that he's peeing some of the "puffy" off and that his heart function remains excellent!! Thank you for the update... I pray that it will be just a matter of days that he will be done with the breathing tube and back in your arms where he belongs.

Hello, I found your blog from another blog. My son has HLHS too, he's five and has had four open-heart surgeries. He's completed the Fontan, and is doing good heart-wise. He's finally walking now, and just started to eat on his own as well. Just a little history there. :)
I wanted to say that I'm praying for Mason and your family. May God's peace be with you during these latest bumps in the road. Praying for absolute healing and for no refection!!

you don't know me from Adam but i have found your willingness to blog about your scary adventure so empowering-i swear you can do anything with your strength, faith and patience. the problem is along with your generosity in letting us in your journey is the fear when your blogs are later than usual-i'm not asking you to blog more i just hope all is well
