Moving Forward

Mason has had a busy today! Busy is good because it means he is moving forward in his recovery. He got out one of his chest tubes (hopefully the other one tomorrow), one of his central IV lines removed, and a PICC line placed (a line he can receive IV treatments through and have blood draws from) that he can have as an out-patient long term (months if needed) because he is such a hard poke.

He is off all of the heart support meds that were started in the OR and his heart function is still perfect!! He is now up to his normal G-tube feeds and tolerating them well. After a second and third opinion about the vein ultrasound Mason had yesterday (looking for clots) the conclusion is that there are NO clots. Yeah! No lovenox shots!

All the doctors are saying that Mason is moving forward very quickly. He continues to be our little miracle boy that defies the odds. I feel like I'm in the middle of a dream because things are going so well! HOPE, FAITH, & LOVE have made this dream possible and I'm overwhelmed with gratitude to be part of it!!

Good Night!

So glad all is going well. My baby girl has had two open heart surgeries. Getting chest tubes out were always good days for us. We hate chest tubes. She always had to keep hers in longer than doctors expected. Praying for another wonderful day for Mason and all of you.

AWESOME! And no clots??!! I think that would be my favorite news of the day. The prospect of not having to give him shots 2x a day must do your spirits good! Keep it up Mason Buddy!
