Just have patience please........

Okay, so even though we all prayed that today would be the day Mason would officially be listed on the heart transplant list........that has not been the case!

After many, many phone calls once again today with our insurance and our financial social workers here at Lucille Packard......... the ball still sits in the court of the insurance ......and at the end of the day after dragging their feet again.........STILL NO FINAL APPROVAL!!!

Now the medical director at our insurance says he is seeking an external opinion about Mason's case before he'll give final approval for transplant.........GRRRRR! So frustrating!!!

After saying more than once to the financial social worker here, "Don't they realize Mason isn't healthy enough just to put on the back burner? Don't they realize I've left 4 other kiddos and my husband back in Utah?! Why are they wasting our precious time?!"...............

These were her last words to me today...."we do see this more often than not, so JUST HAVE PATIENCE PLEASE!"

JUST HAVE PATIENCE PLEASE?!! Okay, I'm trying, but we are already 10 days over the original day he was supposed to be listed!!

Hopefully, tomorrow will bring happier news! Besides, tomorrow Mason will be 27 months old(.....well if there was a February 30th that's when it would really be)!

GOOD NIGHT!!!

I can not even imagine how it feels to be you and waiting and waiting like that! I pray the insurance moves fast and I will call my prayerful friends tomorrow to help pray in this situation. I hope I can be of encouragement to you through this journey.

You are showing much more patience than I would. I just don't understand why it's so hard to authorize when they've already pre-authorized it. Argh. I'm so sorry. That's 10 days without your babes. It's 10 days waiting... patiently.. already. There has to be a reason, a larger plan, keep the faith!! You're doing great and there are many people praying!

Oh Summer! My stomach is in knots reading this! I am so sorry! I know how frustrated I get when the doctor's office leaves me in a room for 1/2 an hour. I can't imagine how frustrated you must be. Hang in there. We're all praying for you!

Patience may be a virtue, but it is not something you need to deal with right now. I wish I cold give the insurance robots a piece of my mind! :(
I am praying for them to get their act together and for that sweet little guy who so deserves a healthy heart really soon.
May tomorrow bring you wonderful uplifting news.

You are a virtue of patience. I don't know if I would have that much patience with the insurance company. You all remain in my thoughts and prayers.

I want to write a letter that that insurance company and give them a little peice of my mind right now. Do they think you are making this all up? Sorry to be negative....but that's SO frusterating!

Hoping today brings good news. I am going to pray for that insurance guy who's giving you such a hard time! I am sure he's following the companies "proper protocol" but I seriously have to wonder how well he sleeps at night.

Good luck! ({hugs})

Your family is Exhibit A in how deathly ill our country's health care is. Makes me SOOOO mad!! So, your family endures unspeakable stress for two years, overcomes all these hurdles; the country's best doctors recommend this path for Mason, and then after all that, greedy profiteers get the final say. Disgusting! Good thing God is at the helm. I'll add my prayers to all the rest of the people pouring out their hearts for you and your family.

Oh, like you HAVEN'T been patient?!?! Please! They need to get it together and realize there's nothing more you'd rather be than patient, but at this point, it's not about YOU but THEM. I'm so sorry to hear that Summer. I will keep you on my high priority prayer list :)

Timing is everything, try to have faith that insurance is dragging their feet for a bigger reason than we know. I am sorry that you have to deal with this right now, but go a head and let out some steam to all of us who are here to support you. We can take it even if the social worker cannot.

So sorry, Sum. Just makes me wanna call that insurance place and let them have it.
Wish we were those friends nearby that you were staying with, or that I could come take you 2 some lunch.
You are in our family's every prayer, now. You and little Mason and his heart.
xxx I love you

Hi there,
I just came across your webpage. I'm a sixteen year old from New Zealand and I'm doing a speech on Organ Donation for school. I'm really passionate about Organ Donation, and am trying to raise awareness about it and convince anyone and everyone to become an organ donor.

I'm really sorry to hear about Mason, it's really heartbreaking to read about cases like this. You've all come such a long way, and I'm sure one day soon things will come right. Mason is such a gorgeous boy, and he will grow into a wonderful young man. My thoughts are with you and all of your family.

Keep strong xxoo

We shouldn't have to fight with our insurance companies the way we do. There is enough stress in our lives as it is, especially in your case. Patience is a hard thing to find when your child's life is at stake.

Hold fast! I believe that God will provide.
