A Sad Speed Bump

This certainly isn't the post I wanted to be writing right now! It makes me SAD!

Mason is most likely in rejection right now. :( :( :(

This might explain the "not himself behavior" this week.

Even before getting back his biopsy, Dr. Everett his almost certain he is in rejection.

Since his last echo 1 month ago, his left ventricle function has decreased and his tricuspid valve function has decreased. (signs of rejection)

Since his last biopsy at the end of September the pressures in his right atrium are significantly higher. (sign of rejection)

Mason will be admitted today to the CVICU here at Primary Children's to receive IV steroids (for rejection) and Milrinone (for heart function).

Dr. E is consulting with Dr Berstein at Stanford about whether he will also need plasma-pheresis like he had last April at Stanford.

Please PRAY with our family that Miracle Mason can yet overcome another speed bump! PRAY he will be STRONG and fight this rejection off! PRAY we can take care of this here at Primary's and not have to return to Stanford. (Stanford is wonderful, but it is sooooo far from our family!)

Here are my famous words: HOPE, FAITH, PRAYER, LOVE, & MIRACLES
If we BELIEVE in all these we can over come this sad speed bump!!!

(Maybe this is all my fault because this is the first time I've come to the Hospital with Mason without bringing an overnight bag in the car with me!!!)

You will be in our prayers again tonight. Rejection happens from time to time -- it is scary -- it is hard. Please let me know if you need anything I work very close to PCMC and can run you up stuff.

Mason...this stinks buddy. Hopefully the rejection is minor and a dose of steroids will nip it in the bud. My heart is sad for you. We continue to pray as always. The only time you don't take an overnight bad with you...darn it. I'm so happy that you have a super nanny to help out while you're away.

Summer, I am so sad to read this. I was just thinking about you guys yesterday. I had my blog printed off in a book and it came in the mail. I was looking through it last night and saw the posts I had written about Mason's struggles and about his miracle transplant and felt like I should have emailed you and I didnt and now I feel bad when I get on here and see this.
Sending lots of love and prayers your way. So many people love your family. Heavenly Father is very aware of Mason's needs at this time. I know he will make it through this....he is a fighter and one of the strongest kids I know.
Love you guys. I will be at Primary's next week for a few days so let me know if you need anything or if I can help with something.

I'm so sorry. Poor little guy does not deserve to be in the Hospital again, or do you.
Please keep us posted on his recovery
from this nasty speed bump.
I will add him to the Prayer list at Church, so many
others can Pray as well.
Get better soon little sweetheart!

OH NO! You totally jinxed yourself without the overnight bag!! In all seriousness, this is stinky news. I know it has to be sad to be back at the hospital, let alone in the ICU! I hope that some steroids and some great one on one nursing get him feeling back to normal and let his heart recover as quickly as possible. I hope that there is another miracle for Mason just around the corner!

Noooo!!! We will be praying for Mason. He's so sweet.

Also, I just noticed that our business is linked to our old website. Would you mind putting Alpine Aesthetics Skin & Laser, then linking it to alpinelaser.com? It's a much better site. And please let us know if any events come up... we would love to help any way we can. We'll definitely be praying, and please call me for rides, etc. =) 492.0501. Love ya!

So sorry to hear this news Summer. I pray things can turn around quickly for Mason, and hope that any trip to Stanford is not on the horizon. I know how hard it us to be that far from family. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you, I'm only 20 minutes away.

I'm so sorry Mason and your family is going through this ... but Mommy this is not your fault ... my mommy forgot overnight bags many times ... and we always ended up needed them when she forget them and never when she had them packed ... I will pray for you and Mason and your entire family and I will pray this is minor and will turn around for Mason ... <3
